Book or Box?

The Question is Book or Box?

I had these lovely match book and boxes made at theknot.com. It’s a wedding site of all things, but you can make party favors, and personalized gifts like the matches above. They happened to be on sale at the time, so I decided, what better way to promote wwww.jarpke.com than through personalized match book and boxes. I ordered 100 of each and the total was around $50. I figured the total wasn’t too bad to have something other than a generic business card that I ordered from vistaprint.com. Not that I have anything against Vista Print, just that I don’t think people hold on to business cards as much as people would use a book of matches.

Lately, I’ve been going up to people and asking Book or Box? At first they are confused and want to know more, but I say it’s a simple question. If you had to choose between a book or a box, which one would you choose? They then choose a book or box and then I had them the corresponding match type package.

I don’t need a book or a box nowadays. Every since I gave up those Marlboro Lights (Winston regular before that) the only time I need a match is to light another birthday candle. At my age I need a whole box for that (box for birthday candles; book for those smokes) 🙂

I’d give you a box of matches, but I don’t think the box holds 99 matches for your next birthday. 🙂
